Transparent information regarding submission and publication charges
Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pengembangan Masyarakat Indonesia (JPPMI) is an open-access journal. All published articles are freely available to readers without subscription or access charges.
To maintain the journal's editorial, production, technological, and dissemination services, an article processing charge is applied only to manuscripts that have successfully completed peer review and received a formal editorial acceptance decision.

Authors are not charged when submitting a manuscript. There is also no fee for editorial screening or peer review. The article processing charge becomes payable only after the manuscript has completed the required editorial and peer-review process and has been formally accepted for publication.
JPPMI operates under an open-access publishing model. Readers can access, read, and download published articles without payment. Because the journal does not rely on reader subscription fees, the article processing charge contributes to the operational costs required to manage, produce, disseminate, and maintain scholarly articles.
The charge does not represent payment for acceptance and does not purchase a favorable editorial decision. It supports the publishing services provided after and throughout the editorial process while allowing the published article to remain openly accessible.
The article processing charge contributes to the following services:
Management of submissions, editorial correspondence, review records, revisions, and publication documentation.
Similarity screening, ethical documentation, authorship verification, and research-integrity checks.
Language consistency checks, reference checking, article layout, proofreading, and preparation of publication files.
DOI registration, metadata preparation, metadata validation, and distribution to relevant scholarly services.
Website hosting, journal management system maintenance, technical support, security updates, and data backup.
Free public access to published articles and dissemination through indexing, discovery, and academic information services.
Payment of the article processing charge does not guarantee acceptance, accelerated review, favorable reviewer comments, or preferential treatment. All editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's academic merit, ethical integrity, relevance, and compliance with the journal's publication standards.
Payment instructions are provided only after the corresponding author receives an official acceptance notification. Authors should make payments only through the official payment channel stated in the journal's invoice or acceptance correspondence.
Authors should not transfer payment to personal accounts or unofficial contacts. Any applicable tax or transaction charge will be communicated transparently before payment.
Authors experiencing documented financial limitations may submit a written request for a fee waiver or reduction. Requests are considered individually based on the available journal resources and must not influence the editorial or peer-review decision. Approval is not automatic and should be obtained before payment is made.
Once an accepted manuscript has entered copyediting, layout, DOI registration, or other production stages, the article processing charge is normally non-refundable. Refunds may be considered in cases of duplicate payment, documented payment error, or cancellation initiated by the journal before publication. Requests are reviewed individually and require supporting payment documentation.
JPPMI does not impose undisclosed submission, review, fast-track, publication, page, color-figure, or supplementary-file charges. If any optional service is offered separately, its cost and conditions must be communicated to the author in advance.
