Copyright & License

Copyright and Licensing Policy

Author rights, publication rights, and conditions for reuse

1. Copyright Ownership

Authors retain copyright in articles published by Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pengembangan Masyarakat Indonesia (JPPMI). Copyright is not transferred exclusively to the journal or publisher.

By submitting an accepted manuscript for publication, the authors grant JPPMI the right of first publication and a non-exclusive right to publish, reproduce, distribute, display, archive, preserve, index, and disseminate the article and its metadata in electronic or other appropriate formats.

2. Creative Commons License

Unless otherwise stated on the individual article, JPPMI articles are distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).

This license permits readers to copy, redistribute, adapt, remix, and build upon the material for non-commercial purposes, provided that appropriate credit is given and adapted material is distributed under the same license.

3. Conditions of Reuse

Condition Requirement
Attribution Credit the authors, cite the original article, provide its DOI or URL, and include a link to the license
Non-commercial use The material must not be used primarily for commercial advantage or monetary compensation without permission
ShareAlike Adapted material must be distributed under the same or an officially compatible license
Indication of changes Reusers must clearly indicate whether the original material has been modified
No implied endorsement Reuse must not imply endorsement by the authors, journal, publisher, or participating community

4. Author Rights

Authors may:

  • Reuse their article in future non-commercial scholarly works;
  • Use the article for teaching and academic presentations;
  • Share the article with students, colleagues, and community partners;
  • Deposit permitted manuscript versions in appropriate repositories;
  • Include the article in a thesis, dissertation, or collected work when properly cited; and
  • Distribute the article under the applicable Creative Commons conditions.

5. Author Responsibilities

Authors confirm that:

  • The submitted work is original;
  • They have authority to grant the stated publication rights;
  • Copyrighted material has been used with permission or under a lawful exception;
  • Appropriate attribution has been provided;
  • Identifiable photographs or personal information are published with consent; and
  • The manuscript does not unlawfully infringe copyright, privacy, or other rights.

Third-Party Material

The article's Creative Commons license applies only to material that the authors or journal have authority to license. Photographs, figures, instruments, trademarks, or other third-party material may be subject to separate rights. Such material must be clearly identified, and users are responsible for obtaining any additional permission required.

6. Commercial Use

The CC BY-NC-SA 4.0 license does not authorize commercial use. A party wishing to use an article or substantial part of it primarily for commercial advantage or monetary compensation must obtain separate permission from the relevant copyright holder.

7. Citation of the Original Article

Reuse should cite the authors, article title, journal title, publication year, volume, issue, page or article number, and DOI. Where material has been adapted, translated, shortened, or otherwise modified, the nature of the change must be clearly indicated.

8. Version of Record and Licensing Changes

The license displayed on an article at publication applies to that version of record. JPPMI will not silently change the license of a published article. A material licensing correction requires transparent documentation and, where applicable, agreement from the copyright holder.

Earlier Publications

For earlier articles, the applicable copyright and reuse conditions are those displayed on the article page or published file. The current policy does not automatically replace a different license previously applied to an individual article.
