Author self-archiving, repository deposit, and responsible sharing of scholarly publications.
Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pengembangan Masyarakat Indonesia (JPPMI) supports open access, author self-archiving, and responsible dissemination of scholarly articles through personal websites, institutional repositories, disciplinary repositories, and other appropriate platforms.
Authors retain copyright in their work and may deposit permitted manuscript versions without a journal-imposed embargo, subject to applicable copyright, licensing, third-party rights, and confidentiality obligations.
Repository sharing is intended to enhance the accessibility, visibility, citation, and long-term availability of scholarly contributions to community engagement and development.
JPPMI does not impose an embargo period on the deposit of the Author Original Version, Accepted Manuscript, or published Version of Record. Authors should accurately identify the version shared and provide a citation and DOI link to the published article once available.
The version prepared by the authors before formal acceptance by JPPMI, including a submitted pre-review manuscript or an earlier author-prepared version. This version has not yet completed the journal's peer-review and publication process.
The manuscript accepted for publication after editorial evaluation and required peer review, including approved revisions, but before the journal's final copyediting, layout, and publication formatting.
The final article formally published by JPPMI, including its approved layout, bibliographic information, publication date, DOI where assigned, and applicable copyright and licensing statement.
Authors may share manuscript versions according to the following self-archiving arrangements.

*Deposit on commercial platforms or services is subject to applicable copyright, licensing terms, third-party permissions, and platform conditions. Permission to deposit does not grant unrestricted commercial reuse rights.
"At any time" refers to the absence of a journal-imposed embargo. A manuscript version cannot be deposited before that version exists.
Authors depositing or sharing manuscript versions should observe the following requirements:
Authors are encouraged to include a version statement on deposited manuscripts so readers can distinguish unpublished and accepted versions from the final publication.
"This is an author-prepared manuscript version. It has not been formally published by Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pengembangan Masyarakat Indonesia."
"This is the author-accepted manuscript following peer review. The final published version may differ due to copyediting and typesetting."
"This is the published Version of Record in Jurnal Pengabdian dan Pengembangan Masyarakat Indonesia. DOI: [article DOI]."
The statements above are examples and must be adapted to the actual manuscript version and publication details.
Authors retain copyright in their published work and grant JPPMI first-publication and applicable non-exclusive publishing rights.
Unless otherwise specified on the relevant article, the published Version of Record is distributed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0).
Authors must not assume that the published article's license automatically covers materials owned by third parties or grants unrestricted commercial reuse rights. The license displayed on each published article determines the applicable conditions for that version of record.
Authors may disseminate permitted manuscript versions through academic profiles, personal websites, institutional repositories, subject repositories, and other appropriate services.
Authors should select platforms that allow accurate attribution, provide appropriate access to deposited materials, and do not require the author to grant rights inconsistent with existing publication agreements.
Institutional and disciplinary repositories offering stable identifiers, transparent access conditions, and appropriate long-term management are encouraged.
Sharing an article on a commercial academic networking platform does not mean the platform is an independent digital preservation service, nor does it authorize commercial exploitation beyond applicable rights and licenses.
Community engagement manuscripts may include photographs, interviews, training materials, participant assessments, educational resources, and information provided by partner institutions.
Repository deposit of an article does not automatically authorize public distribution of all underlying datasets or supporting documents.
Authors must respect participant privacy, community agreements, ethical approvals, institutional permissions, and applicable restrictions on third-party content.
Restricted data and confidential information should be handled according to the journal's Data Sharing Policy and relevant legal or institutional requirements.
Authors should ensure that repository records remain accurate if the published article is corrected, retracted, or becomes subject to an expression of concern.
When a formal post-publication notice is issued, authors should update repository descriptions and provide a link to the relevant notice where the platform permits.
Repository copies must not be represented as unaffected or current when the corresponding published version has been corrected or retracted.
Author self-archiving and repository deposit can increase accessibility and provide additional locations where scholarly content may be discovered.
However, depositing an article on a personal website or academic networking platform does not necessarily provide the technical safeguards associated with long-term digital preservation.
JPPMI distinguishes its author self-archiving arrangements from the journal's own archiving, backup, and digital preservation measures. Authors are encouraged to use suitable repositories with reliable maintenance and appropriate preservation arrangements where possible.
This policy permits author self-archiving of the Author Original Version, Accepted Manuscript, and Version of Record without a journal-imposed embargo, subject to applicable copyright, licensing, privacy, and third-party rights.
For articles published under different historical licenses, the copyright and reuse conditions attached to the relevant published version continue to apply.
JPPMI supports responsible repository dissemination while maintaining accurate attribution, transparent version identification, and the integrity of the published scholarly record.
