Guidelines For Submission of Manuscript
Registration and Manuscript Submission Guide
A step-by-step guide for creating an account and submitting a manuscript to the Journal of Health and Nutrition Research through Open Journal Systems (OJS) 3.
Please note: OJS page labels may vary slightly according to the installed OJS version and the journal's configuration. The general workflow remains registration, account login, a new submission, manuscript details, file upload, contributor metadata, data availability, final review, and confirmation.
Before You Begin
Prepare the Manuscript
- Confirm that the article fits the journal's Focus and Scope.
- Use the latest JHNR article template and required reference style.
- Complete language editing and proofreading when necessary.
- Remove comments, tracked changes, and unnecessary personal notes.
- Prepare readable tables, figures, captions, and supplementary files.
Collect Required Information
- Full names, emails, affiliations, countries, and ORCID IDs of all authors.
- Correct author order and designated corresponding author.
- Title, abstract, keywords, and article type or journal section.
- Ethics approval, consent, funding, conflicts of interest, and author contributions, as applicable.
- Data availability statement and repository link or identifier, when applicable.
Register an Author Account
Submit Your Manuscript
Log in, open your author dashboard, and select New Submission. Complete each step and use the Save and Continue option before moving forward.
Details
- Select the manuscript language, journal section, or article type when requested.
- Read and confirm every submission requirement honestly.
- Enter the manuscript title, subtitle if applicable, abstract, and keywords.
- Add comments for the editor only when relevant; do not repeat the abstract.
- Agree to the privacy, copyright, and submission declarations shown by the journal.
Upload Files
- Upload the main manuscript using the correct file format and current JHNR template.
- Select the correct component for each file, such as Article Text, Figure, Table, Data Set, or Supplementary Material.
- Upload separate files only when required and give each file a clear, descriptive name.
- Confirm that the latest file version was uploaded and that no file is duplicated, incomplete, corrupted, or password-protected.
- Remove identifying information from blinded files if the journal specifically requires anonymous review.
Contributors
- Add every author and contributor individually; do not enter only the corresponding author.
- Use the correct spelling, capitalization, and order of names shown in the manuscript.
- Enter each contributor's email, affiliation, country, and ORCID ID when available.
- Arrange contributors in the approved authorship order and identify the principal or corresponding contact as required.
- Ensure all online metadata exactly matches the manuscript title page.
Data Availability
- Select the option that accurately describes the availability of the study data.
- Provide a repository name, persistent link, DOI, or accession number when data are publicly available.
- If data cannot be shared, give an appropriate explanation where requested.
- Ensure the data availability statement is consistent with the manuscript and ethical or participant-consent restrictions.
- If this step is not required for the article type, follow the instructions displayed by the journal.
Review Your Submission
- Review all details, files, contributors, declarations, and data information.
- Confirm that the correct manuscript version and all required supplementary files are present.
- Correct spelling, metadata, author order, and file labels before final submission.
- Read and accept the copyright or submission statements displayed by the journal.
- Select Submit or Finish Submission only when everything is complete, then confirm the final action.
After Submission
Common Submission Mistakes
- Creating duplicate accounts or duplicate submissions.
- Uploading the wrong manuscript version or incorrect file component.
- Failing to add all authors to the Contributors step.
- Entering metadata that differs from the manuscript.
- Closing the browser before receiving final confirmation.
