Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The document file has follow the journal template format.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • The text uses a 12-point font and appropriate formatting, and all tables and figures are placed within the text at the appropriate points.
  • The manuscript has been prepared according to the Author Guidelines of the Journal of Nutrition Explorations.
  • The manuscript includes the following sections where applicable: Title, Abstract, Keywords, Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Conclusion, and References.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • References are written according to the 7th APA style, and have been provided by URLs or DOIs
  • The Statement of Originality will be uploaded as supplementary files during the submission process.
  • All authors listed in the manuscript will be entered in the submission metadata during the submission process.

Author Guidelines

Studies in Language, Education, and Culture (SeLEC)

Manuscripts submitted to the editorial board must not have been previously published and must not be under consideration or review by another publisher. This must be confirmed through an Ethical Statement, which can be downloaded from the Studies in Language, Education, and Culture (SeLEC) website (please ensure that you have registered and have a username). The Ethical Statement must be uploaded during the online submission process.

Manuscripts intended for publication in Studies in Language, Education, and Culture (SeLEC) should be submitted through the following steps:

1. Online Submission

Manuscripts must be submitted through the Online Submission System available on the Studies in Language, Education, and Culture (SeLEC) website.

2. Registration

Authors who do not yet have an account must register on the journal website by selecting Register.

3. Login

After completing the registration process, authors should log in as Author using the registered username and password.

4. Start a New Submission

After logging into the dashboard, click the New Submission menu to begin submitting a manuscript.

5. Submission Checklist

Authors must review and confirm all submission requirements by checking (✓) each item in the Submission Checklist. Authors may also add comments to the editor if necessary. After completing this step, click Save and Continue.

6. Upload Manuscript File

The next step is uploading the manuscript file. As stated in the submission checklist, acceptable file formats include OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF.

To upload the manuscript:

  • Click Upload File
  • Select Article Text as the Article Component
  • Upload the manuscript file

7. Upload Supporting Documents

Authors are required to upload the following supporting documents in the Upload Submission section:

Additional supporting files may also be uploaded if applicable, such as:

  • Ethical clearance
  • Research questionnaire
  • Dataset
  • Research instruments
  • Research materials
  • Research results
  • Transcripts
  • Data analysis files
  • Source texts
  • Other relevant materials

To upload supporting documents:

  • Click Add File
  • Select the appropriate file type such as Research Instrument, Research Materials, Research Results, Transcripts, Data Analysis, Data Set, Source Texts, or Other

8. Enter Manuscript Metadata

After uploading the manuscript, authors must complete the manuscript metadata, including:

  • Title: Enter the title of the article
  • Abstract: Enter the abstract of the article
  • Keywords: Enter keywords one by one, separated by commas
  • References: Enter the references used in the article using the Vancouver Style

If the manuscript has more than one author, additional authors must be added by clicking Add Contributor. All authors listed in the manuscript must be entered in the system by clicking Add Author. Submissions will not be processed if the author information in the system does not match the authors listed in the manuscript.

After completing the metadata, click Save and Continue.

9. Finish Submission

Finally, click Finish Submission. The corresponding author will automatically receive a Submission Acknowledgement via the registered email address as confirmation of the submission.
