Focus and Scope

Focus:

The Journal of Nutrition and Health Development is a peer-reviewed, international journal dedicated to advancing the understanding of nutritional science and its profound impact on human health, growth, and development across the lifespan. The journal's core focus is on publishing high-quality, evidence-based research that bridges the gap between fundamental nutritional science, clinical application, and public health policy. We aim to provide a platform for researchers, academics, and practitioners to disseminate findings that contribute to the prevention of disease and the promotion of optimal health through nutrition.

Scope:

The journal welcomes original research articles, systematic reviews, meta-analyses, case studies, and short communications in, but not limited to, the following areas:

  • Clinical Nutrition: Diet therapy and nutritional management of metabolic and chronic diseases (e.g., obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease), malnutrition, and nutritional support in clinical settings.

  • Public Health and Community Nutrition: Nutritional epidemiology, community-based nutritional interventions, food security and policy, dietary guidelines, and health promotion programs.

  • Lifespan Nutrition: Maternal, infant, and child nutrition; nutritional needs during adolescence; geriatric nutrition; and the role of nutrition in aging.

  • Nutritional Science and Metabolism: The study of macronutrient and micronutrient metabolism, nutritional biochemistry, nutrigenomics, and the human microbiome.

  • Dietary Patterns and Health Outcomes: Research on the effects of different dietary patterns (e.g., Mediterranean, plant-based) on health, disease prevention, and longevity.

  • Functional Foods and Nutraceuticals: The role of bioactive food components and dietary supplements in health maintenance and disease risk reduction.

  • Sports Nutrition and Physical Activity: The interplay between nutrition, exercise physiology, and physical performance.

  • Global Health and Nutrition: Addressing nutritional challenges in developing countries, including food insecurity, stunting, and micronutrient deficiencies.
